"No peeking~!" Itto excitedly sing-songs as he covers his lover's eyes and carefully guides him to the secret spot. Xiao had been stressed recently, and while the other dismissed Itto's questions of concern, it never stopped the rock musician from finding ways to help cheer his boyfriend up. Teaching the pups how to shake his hand, cooking Xiao's favorite meals, and surprising him with flowers; Itto never stopped his attempts to make Xiao smile.
But now, he wanted to crank it up a notch.
"And tadaaaa!" Itto says as he pulls his hand away, revealing to his partner the romantic picnic he had set up in a secluded area at the park they always visited with their pups. "It's been awhile since we had a picnic," Itto smiles as he puts a hand on his hips, "So I thought 'why not surprise my amazing boyfriend with the best picnic ever'! I brought food, snacks, wine-- everything and anything we'll need for a nice picnic date!"
The night terrors have been occurring again for reasons beyond his understanding. Comparatively, it's nothing as drastic as how it was in terms of frequency years ago, but there's no taking away from the fact that it still sucks. Xiao fully believed he could fool everyone from realising just how exhausted he truly is. But of course, how could he hope to fool the one who adores him most?

He did all of this...for him? Warmth settles in his chest. Grass rustles beneath his feet as he approaches his boyfriend to wrap his own arms around him, head nestled squarely against his chest.
